Brown Thumb Green Thumb

Dum diddy dum diddy dum dum dum (Mom, you know the book ;) lol). I am so excited!!! It seems that all of a sudden, EVERYTHING in my garden is getting down to some serious growing business. My onions are fattening up, though they're a little crowded. I can't "thin" seedlings, for some reason it seems mean heehee. So I may have some skinny onions but heck! It's electrifying having grown onions at all! ( Yes, I looked in my dictosaurus... I didn't want to use excite again... I love that book!) My cucumbers are sending off little tendrils... The potatoes are producing flower buds! AHHHHH!!!!! Nature high!!!!! The squash are also just starting some teeny tiny flower buds. And check out my morning glory...
I swear, it just reached for that branch over night. I wasn't sure they were even going to make it, because last year I planted a bunch and not a single one sprouted. I was extra "detailed" about them this year though. I nicked the tough shell, soaked them for two days, and gave them lovely loamy potting soil instead of the dense clay we have. I also waited until may instead of march to plant them, heh heh.
Now I have three pots with two morning glories each, yay! Oh my gad, and my nasturtiums. Having never grown them before, I wasn't sure what they were supposed to look like, the plants shape in general I mean. Having seen some out in the world since mine grew, though, I relaize mine are quite bushy. Still, I wasn't sure they would flower, but yup, even they are budding. It is going to be so fun watching the veggies mature, and seeing all the beautiful flowers. And there's always Lilly, too, adding beauty to my garden with her princess self. When my plants do this all-of-a-sudden stuff it's hard to remember that there's going to be much more waiting and impaitence to come. Even a rose that I thought was a gonner put up several foot long shoots this past week!
Oh man, I just realized something. Purple and peacock and fuschia morning glories, orange and yellow nasturtiums and squash flowers, and pale pink white roses... aye yi yi... clash much? lol I've dont even know what color potato flowers are! I'll have to take individual pictures. Good thing there's no homeowners association, ha! Ah, what the heck, I'll take flowers in whatever color I can grow 'em. I've come a long way from my brown thumb days. Can you believe I couldn't keep a single plant alive once upon a time?
